Future AI Summit brings researchers, university leaders, entrepreneurs and students into a shared conversation. As a member of the Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees, Saygın Şenel contributes to the summit’s development and to its discussions on the future of higher education.
A university that thinks through change
For universities, AI presents an institutional question as much as a technological one. How should students learn to assess an answer? How can research and teaching benefit from new tools? What capabilities must academic and administrative teams develop? The summit gives these questions a public forum, connecting different disciplines and practical experience.
Şenel’s approach places scientific thinking and human judgement at the centre. Technology is considered through the opportunities it creates for people to learn, question and put ideas into practice.
2026 · AI in higher education
At the summit held on 22–23 June 2026 under the theme “Redesign Intelligence”, Şenel joined Dr. Nil Girgin Kalıp for a discussion on AI, higher education and the university’s future. The conversation considers learning, research and institutional change together.
2025 · Opening a wider conversation
The 2025 gathering continues the dialogue between academic knowledge, emerging technologies and the people who put them into use. Şenel’s opening address sets that conversation within the university’s responsibility to anticipate change and create new opportunities for its students.
2024 · The first gathering
The first Future AI Summit, held at BAU Future Campus on 16–17 April 2024, establishes a meeting point for the university and the wider AI ecosystem. It provides a foundation for an ongoing discussion on the changing relationship between education, science and technology.
From discussion to institutional learning
The value of the summit extends beyond the event itself. Its questions feed into a broader examination of university life: the design of learning environments, the support available to entrepreneurs and the capacity of the institution to keep learning as technology develops.
